The service starts by taking away the camshaft sprocket together with the crankshaft sprocket and timing chain assembly before removing the three-bolt timing chain tensioner. Place the timing chain tensioner before screwing in its bolts during installation. Set the key at 12 o'clock position while the number one piston remains at Top Dead Center (TDC). The tensioner pad retracting mechanism can be retracted through compression followed by the insertion of a retention pin as a necessary step. During installation position the camshaft sprocket timing mark at its bottom before adding the timing chain/belt with camshaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket components that should line up their timing marks and keyways. To install the camshaft synchronizer drive gear place it correctly and bolt it before removing the retaining pin to complete the installation with the timing cover.
