  The Clock Spring assembly service needs safety glass protection against unintentional air bag releases while replacing this component without memory saver tools. An SRS fault is not indicated when the RCM fuse removal activates the air bag warning lamp while the ignition switch is ON. Vehicle return to the customer requires full SRS operation without faults. To perform repairs one must use a new component; however if problems persist replacing the original piece and following diagnostic steps is necessary. Systems depowering should start with positioning the road wheels in a forward direction and gently lowering the Steering Wheel until it reaches the down position.
