Lincoln LS Evaporator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the evaporator core on Lincoln LS?
A: Prior to removing the evaporator core start with a vacuum leak test to check for leaks when there is a suspicion. A receiver/drier replacement is required only when changes are detected from a blown A/C compressor or receiver/drier damage exists. Commence by taking off both the Heater Core and evaporator core housing and proceed with unscrewing two attachments which link the air inlet housing to the evaporator core housing. The air inlet housing separation from the evaporator core housing can proceed by disengaging the clip before disconnecting and setting aside the evaporator core housing wire harness. The evaporator core housing cover can be accessed after removing the dash panel seal combined with the eight screws which maintain the heater core and evaporator core housing cover. Delete the evaporator core and replace it by following the removal order while installing new O-ring seals and adding PAG oil of the proper amount into the refrigerant system.
