  Begin service and repair operations on the intake manifold by establishing safety conditions by keeping flammable materials away from fuel components and draining fuel pressure to stop spraying. Begin the service procedure by detaching the battery ground cable followed by engine appearance cover and noise suppressor removal when they are not installed. The technician should start by taking out the air cleaner outlet pipe together with the cowl panel grille before disconnecting the fuel supply tube spring lock coupling from the Fuel Rail. The procedure requires removal of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system module together with six bolts and the cross vehicle brace. Prerequisites include disconnecting the Throttle Position Sensor together with the Fuel Pressure Sensor while also removing the Throttle Body, EVAP hose and both the fuel rail temperature sensor and the crankcase ventilation tube and vacuum supply tube. The vacuum harness retainer and engine wiring harness should be detached from engine appearance cover brackets and then four engine nuts used to remove the brackets and their retainers. Tighten the radio interference ignition capacitors and nuts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) after installing the engine wiring harness retainer with its two attached nuts. The radio interference ignites the capacitor and connects it with the eight fuel injector electrical wires. Put on the two engine appearance cover brackets followed by tightening four nuts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.). Next secure the engine wiring harness with vacuum harness retainers. The repair process requires reattachment of the vacuum supply tube alongside the crankcase ventilation tube and fuel rail temperature sensor and sensor electrical connectors as well as the EVAP hose and throttle body and fuel pressure sensor. The mechanic must install the six bolts, cross vehicle brace, and EGR system module while tightening them to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) before attaching the air cleaner outlet pipe together with the fuel supply tube spring lock coupling.
