Install the Holding Fixture to have the Dial Indicator Gauge installed. Install the crankshaft at the back of the cylinder block, set the gauge to zero at the back of the block and move it to the front and measure the end play, examine the engine system level to specification.

Measurement of each main bearing journal diameter is in two directions in order to service the crankshaft. In case of out specification measurements, replace parts. Check also taper and out-of-round condition at both ends of the journal; replace parts where these values are out of specification.
