Mercury Mariner Blend Door Actuator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and replace the RH temperature blend door actuator on Mercury Mariner?
A: The first step to replace the RH temperature blend door actuator requires removal of the upper center instrument panel finish panel along with the passenger Air Bag module. Use the passenger air bag module opening to reach and loosen the duct screws on the RH panel and the upper RH center panel before removing the duct screw positioned near the RH lower rear corner of the audio unit. The pin-type wire harness retainer should be detached first while removing the lower RH center panel duct screw. Through the glove compartment opening disconnect the electrical connector of the RH temperature blend door actuator and detach the wire harness pin-type retainer which sits above the evaporator discharge air temperature sensor. Exercise extreme care when handling the RH temperature blend door actuator screws to avoid their accidental entry into the plenum chamber since it may result in airflow mode door obstruction or noise creation. The RH center instrument panel duct should be slightly adjusted to access screws while the two RH temperature blend door actuator screws are removed before tightening them to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) when installing them. The last step involves uninstalling the RH temperature blend door actuator after which you will replace it with the new actuator by performing the uninstallation steps in reverse order.
