The first step should start with the removal of the outer tie-rod end followed by removal of the tie-rod end jam nut. Install the jam nut at 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) torque rating. The service procedure begins with removing both clamps from the rack and pinion boot together with the boot itself. The service completion requires you to perform the steps in exact reverse order of removal.
