How to remove and replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) on Mercury Milan?

The replacement of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) does not need new keys or any programming of keys. Obtain the module configuration via correct methods for retrieving module information. After removing the battery tray disconnect the two PCM electrical connectors which are installed on the module. Remove the module by first taking away the four bolts that maintain the PCM position. Position the PCM but fasten it using the four bolts until torque reaches 8 Nm which equals 71 lb-in. Reinstall the battery tray after you reconnect the two PCM electrical connectors. The terminal process requires following essential configuration steps while executing the Parameter Reset procedure for passive anti-theft system (PATS) reprogram.
