Service of the camshaft begins by first unfastening both valve tappets and timing chain from their mounts followed by the wire harness placement out of the way. The service begins with extracting the radiator fan and shroud assemble and proceeding to remove the engine balance shaft drive gear from the camshaft. Separate the camshaft key by itself and follow it up with the engine balance shaft drive gear removal. Proceed with camshaft removal by first unbolting it with all its attached components including thrust plate and spacer. Application of clean engine oil on the camshaft requires prior to proceeding with the installation by reversing the removal order.
