Begin the repair and servicing procedure of the evaporative emission control canister by opening the liftgate and then lowering and removing the spare tire. The battery ground cable should be disconnected to prevent electrical sparks from starting the fuel vapors present in the area thus decreasing the risk of fires or explosions. The two chassis emission lines need disconnection from the evaporative emission tube. First remove all bolts from the evaporative emissions canister before extracting it together with its bracket assembly.
