    Q:
How to service and repair the Neutral Safety Switch for the 4R70E/4R75E on Ford E-250? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service processes on the 4R70E/4R75E Transmission Position Switch/Sensor begin with placing the vehicle on a hoist while maintaining NEUTRAL gear position. Proceed by eliminating the electrical connector of the Transmission Range (TR) sensor and the selector lever cable from the manual control lever. Begin the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor service by first removing the manual control lever nut before extracting the lever from its place. After that detach the TR sensor bolts and TR sensor from the system. Begin installing the TR sensor by mounting its bolts in a loose manner while the manual control lever rests in NEUTRAL position. You should apply the TR Sensor Alignment Gauge to achieve proper TR sensor slot alignment. You should avoid tightening a screw before its counterpart to protect the TR sensor from damage or locking mechanisms. Secure the TR sensor bolts at 9 Nm (80 lb-in) torque value. Secure the manual control lever with a new manual control lever nut which needs tightening to 33 Nm (24 lb-ft). After keeping the manual control lever in NEUTRAL set both the selector lever cable to the manual control lever and the TR sensor electrical connector back into place.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Neutral Safety Switch for the 5R44E and 5R55E on Ford Ranger? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to service and repair the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor for the 5R44E and 5R55E models is to position the vehicle on a hoist and set the transmission to NEUTRAL. You should disconnect the selector lever cable from both the manual control lever and the electrical connector from Transmission Range (TR) Sensor. Start by removing the manual control outer lever nut after which you disconnect both the manual control outer lever and the screws that secure the Transmission Range sensor. Begin by placing the TR sensor directly against the case boss before installing its screws in a loose state. combination usage of the TR Sensor Alignment Gauge requires an alternating screw tightening method until screws reach their specified final torque setting of 10 Nm at 89 lb-in. You should install the manual control lever and its nut to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft) torque. Connect the TR sensor electrical cables together with the manual selector cable to the manual control lever while ensuring proper position of the selector cable during this process.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Neutral Safety Switch on the 4R70E/4R75E on Ford F-150? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service and repair of 4R70E/4R75E Transmission Position Switch/Sensor starts by placing the vehicle at NEUTRAL position on a hoist. The end of the selector lever cable needs disconnection without applying any force between the manual control lever and selector lever cable bracket to avoid causing damage. Begin the service procedures by first disconnecting the Transmission Range (TR) electrical connector. The manual control lever outer nut requires immediate disposal because it cannot meet torque specifications and the user should remove the manual control lever afterward. First remove the bolts from the TR sensor followed by removal of the sensor device itself. Instal the TR sensor while maintaining loose fastening of its bolts while keeping the manual control lever in NEUTRAL position. The installation process should involve the usage of a TR Sensor Alignment Gauge to achieve a secure fit of TR sensor slots. Tighten each TR sensor bolt in an alternate pattern reaching 9 Nm (80 lb-in) to prevent component malfunction. You should reinstall the manual control lever after placing its new outer nut and tightening it to reach 33 Nm (24 lb-ft). Connect the TR sensor connector followed by attaching the selector lever cable end into position on the manual control lever ball stud by applying backward force to the selector lever cable end. Install the selector lever cable end by placing it onto the manual control lever when the lever points to (D).
