The service and repair process for the Body Control Module starts with uploading the module configuration data to the diagnostic tool before removing the smart junction box (SJB) since this data needs to be downloaded into the new module after it is installed. The first step requires disconnecting the battery before removing the right-hand lower cowl trim panel. The main electrical connectors from the SJB need to be unlatched before disconnecting them and then removing them from the SJB. Proceed with removing the SJB after unscrewing it from its position. The completion of this installation requires module configuration data transfer from the diagnostic tool to the new module using the same steps in reverse order.

A Body Control Module service or repair process starts with updating diagnostic tool configuration and then takes out the Smart Junction Box (SJB). First disconnect the battery for safety purposes followed by right-hand lower cowl trim panel removal. Disconnection of four electrical connectors must occur before removing the three screws that secure the SJB.
