The service and repair of the rear parking brake cable and conduit requires removing the console as the first step. Pull the tab to operate the handle upwards. Operate the screwdriver to lower the tension arm completely until it stays compressed before moving the arm downward. Then release the screwdriver. The reverse parking brake cables need removal from their attachment points to the equalizer. A 13 mm box-end wrench should be used to press down on the conduit retaining prongs for removing both the parking brake rear cable and conduit. The routing clip must be unbolted first to release the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake lever. Use the 13 mm box-end wrench to press down on conduit retaining prongs in order to remove parking brake rear cable and conduit. To install the components reverse all steps of removal.
