2002 Lincoln LS Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the heater core on 2002 Lincoln LS?
A: Start the service of heater core through evaporator core housing removal. Perform a leak test on the heater core from inside the vehicle before starting any suspected leak investigation. You must first remove the screws which attach the evaporator core housing to the air inlet housing before detaching the housing clips to break apart the components. Strong air pressure will separate the evaporator core housing from the air inlet housing once the nine screws with their accompanying gasket and clip have been properly removed. Declaration of the bypass door connector and placement of the harness aside needs to happen before performing screw removal for the heater core installation. After removing the screws you may uninstall both the heater core and the heater core tube gasket. To install the components follow the opposite sequence of steps used during uninstallation.
