2007 Ford E-150 A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose from Condenser to Evaporator on 2007 Ford E-150?
A: Recovery of refrigerant needs to start before proceeding with the repair process of the condenser to evaporator line. The evaporator connector uses only an O-ring for sealing on diesel vehicles so removal of the fitting nut allows connection disconnect and O-ring deployment with subsequent installation torque at 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). You must uninstall the engine air cleaner and air cleaner outlet tube from 4.6L, 5.4L and 6.8L equipped vehicles. The removal requires detachment of the auxiliary evaporator inlet line fitting through three screw and bracket removal along with line clip separation and O-ring seal disposal. Install the evaporator inlet fitting bracket screw at 2 Nm (18 lb-in) when you reattach it. A wrench should be used to protect both fitting sides when removing the evaporator inlet connection until you discard its O-ring seal and complete fitting installation at 18 Nm (13 lb-ft). For installation reverse the removal procedure while adding a new gasket seal if present alongside new O-ring seals and applying the right quantity of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. Complete the process by evacuating the system then performing leak tests and system charging.
