- Q: How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty?A: Service of the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor requires positioning the vehicle in neutral gear while the vehicle is on a hoist. First disconnect the battery ground cable followed by accessory drive belt removal. The first step involves disconnecting the A/C compressor electrical connector before removing three bolts from the A/C compressor for positioning elsewhere. Secure each bolt of the A/C compressor with torque of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) when reattaching it. Disconnect the electrical connector of the CKP sensor while removing its bolt and discard the O-ring seal due to replacement. Before installing the new O-ring seal apply engine oil and then torque the CKP sensor bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Apply the opposite steps to finish installing the system.
