You should disconnect the pressure line from the steering gear by removing the banjo bolt of the pressure line-to-steering gear while throwing out the two seals. The banjo bolt needs to be tightened to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft) when reattaching. The service process requires releasing the clamp to separate the return hose first from the steering gear before disconnecting it from the return line. Reinstall the three pressure line bracket-to-steering gear bolts with torque set at 9 Nm after installation. After disconnecting the purge valve electrical connector and the three PCM electrical connectors you must suspend the wiring harness to the side. First loosen then detach the power steering pump banjo bolt connecting the pressure line. Disconnect the line completely from the pump while discarding its two seals before reinstallation where the bolt requires a torque of 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
