The first step to maintain the pickup bed cigarette lighter involves removing four screws that secure the lighter receptacle to its side. The next step requires disconnecting the lighter receptacle electrical connector from its position at the receptacle before taking out the receptacle itself. The installation procedure consists of executing the steps that were used for removal in reverse order.

How to Service and Repair the Cigarette Lighter Outlet on Ford Ranger?

Begin maintenance of the cigarette lighter by first opening the lighter cover that varies depending on its position. Position the Lighter Socket Remover into one slot of the lighter socket and guide it towards linking with the adjacent slot. Pull the lighter socket from its retainer using the remover while disconnecting the electric connection. Installation requires connecting the electrical connector before placing the lighter socket inside the retainer.
