Service and repair of the crankshaft pulley begins with setting the vehicle to neutral on a hoist. Start by taking out the cooling fan before using a clockwise motion to detach the accessory drive belt from the crankshaft pulley through the accessory drive belt tensioner. Press the position retaining tab while removing the pushpin to allow rotating the lower cooling fan shroud up until the position retainer tab secures into place. The first step for removing the crankshaft pulley consists of discarding both the crankshaft pulley bolt and its washer before using a 3-Jaw Puller device. Apply silicone gasket and sealant to the Woodruff key slot of the crankshaft pulley but if installation takes longer than 4 minutes the sealant should be removed while cleaning the sealing area with metal surface prep and silicone gasket remover before complete drying. You should use the crankshaft vibration damper installer to mount the new crankshaft pulley after that you must affix both the new bolt and only tighten it in four installation stages at 120 Nm (89 lb-ft) before loosening it 360 degrees then repeating at 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) before final tightening by 90 degrees. Push and rotate the lower cooling fan shroud downward until its position tab locks into the retainer and complete the assembly with the pushpin. Use the accessory drive belt tensioner to rotate it clockwise so the belt connects to the crankshaft pulley before adding the cooling fan shroud.
