How to service and repair the steering shaft on both non-commercial and commercial chassis on Ford E-150?

The first step for repair or maintenance of the steering shaft on vehicles includes non-commercial and commercial chassis is to stop the steering column from rotating during the steering column shaft disconnect process because it helps protect the Clock Spring sensors from damage. When rotation happens, move and center the Clock Spring sensor. Place the wheel in its forward position and turn off the ignition switch. Steering gear connection requires the removal of non-commercial chassis steering column shaft-to-steering gear bolt as well as disconnecting the shaft from the steering gear but reinstalling the bolt with torque of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Tighten the steering column shaft dash seal nuts with a torque of 9 Nm (80 lb-inch) when reinstalling. The next step requires disconnecting the shaft from the coupling after bolt removal then compressing the steering column shaft before reinstalling with a torque of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). The last step requires the removal of the steering column shaft dash seal and the steering column shaft. You must start with commercial chassis by taking off the steering column shaft-to-steering gear bolt before tightening it to 41 lb-ft (55 Nm). Detach the upper steering column shaft-from-steering column bolt before disconnecting the shaft from the column and removing the steering column shaft by tightening it to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). The entire vehicle finishing procedure requires performing the reverse operations of removal.
