Remove the engine air cleaner before taking off the air cleaner outlet tube to move the compressor discharge line isolator by unscrewing its fastener. Manual service of the 4.2L engine mandates this step but other vehicles should follow by disconnecting the condenser core refrigerant lines by using wrenches on both fittings to avoid damage to the compressor discharge line and condenser to evaporator tube. To begin clearance of the A/C evaporator core fitting remove the screw while using a wrench on both fitting sides. You should then take off the condenser to evaporator tube. Service the new condenser to evaporator tube with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent WSH-M1C231-B complying Ford specification before routing the tube for installation. Apply the specified PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil to the new O-ring seals and put them in place before fitting and screwing the A/C evaporator core by using separate wrenches on each fitting side. The condenser core receiving and releasing lines need connection while new O-ring seals require lubrication prior to installation and then the condenser must connect to the tube running to the evaporator followed by the compressor discharge line using a wrench on each fitting. The compressor discharge line installation requires the screw and isolator following the 4.2L engine installations. Finish the installation by reconnecting the ground cable of the battery while also installing the engine air cleaner and air cleaner outlet tube and performing a system evacuation and charge.
