A technician should begin repairs of the floor shift brake shift interlock actuator by first lifting the floor shift Prndl bezel then disconnecting the Prndl bezel wire harness connector. The process starts with removing the shift lever handle and cover by decreasing the handle bezel then detaching the screw and Tcs wire harness before lifting the assembly from the shifter lever. Start by putting the window regulator control panel to the side before unfastening all screws from the console finish panel and left side console access panel. The transmission shift cable needs disconnection from the transmission selector arm before removing its retaining clip from the floor shift mechanism through the console access. Start by disconnecting the floor shift mechanism wire harness before removing the four bolts that hold the floor shift mechanism to the floor. Take out the floor shift mechanism from the console after disconnecting the harness connector. The installation ends with brake shift interlock assembly removal through wire harness retainer extraction and disassembly of the two screws holding the brake shift interlock assembly. The final installation steps will involve performing the opposite procedures of removal.
