How to Service and Repair the Steering Shaft on Ford Expedition?

The first step when repairing or servicing the steering column shaft must prevent its rotation during intermediate shaft disconnection to avoid damaging the Clock Spring; if any rotation occurred, the Clock Spring should be extracted and recentered. The intermediate shaft must be removed from the steering column by taking out its bolt for disposal. The upper intermediate shaft needs to be disconnected from its position on the lower intermediate shaft using bolt removal followed by the bolt disposal. During the procedure first remove all bolts and dash seal before removing the upper intermediate shaft. The cooling fan along with its shroud needs to be taken out from Navigator 4x4 vehicles. In all vehicles except Navigator 4x4 vehicles, performers should boost the vehicle and detach any existing skid plate before proceeding. The conclusion of the installation process requires the removal of the bolt securing the lower intermediate shaft followed by its disposal. The installation process ends by following the steps of removal in reverse order.
