When replacing the front crankshaft seal, make sure that the vehicle will be in neutral on a hoist. Take away the accessory drive belt and crankshaft pulley. Get rid of the old seal and replace it with a new seal that has lubricated surfaces. Install the accessory drive belt and cooling fan shroud and tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt in four steps.

In order to fix crankshaft main bearing seal, pull off the oil pan and with Slide Hammer dispose crankshaft oil slinger and rear seal. Wipe clean surfaces with plastic tool and silicone remover. Install sealant, retainer plate, lubricate new seal and slinger and install the oil pan once again.
