How to service the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on Ford Focus?

Service of the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) requires initially raising the vehicle before disconnecting the VSS electrical connector. The retaining pin should be removed before taking out the VSS. The new VSS should be installed by inserting it followed by retaining pin installation. The installation process starts with reconnecting VSS electrical connector then returning the vehicle to ground level.
