How to Service and Repair a Crankshaft Seal on Lincoln Navigator?

To repair the crankshaft main bearing seal, remove the transmission and flexplate bolts. Use a Slide Hammer to discard the crankshaft oil slinger and rear seal. Lubricate and install the new seal and slinger. Reinstall the flexplate, tightening bolts to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft), then reinstall the transmission.

To fix crankshaft main bearing seal, lift the vehicle, and dismantle flexplate and spacer plate and dislodge crankshaft oil slinger and rear seal. Install the engine lifting bracket, drain oil and lower the oil pan. Wipe down surfaces, change seals, and re-assemble parts, and then inspects leakages.
