How to service the fuel pressure regulator safely and effectively on Lincoln Navigator?

Users must keep away from all open flame and smoking when servicing the fuel pressure regulator because highly flammable mixtures exist in the components. It is necessary to lower fuel pressure in the system because pressure remains high after engine shutdown. Access to the fuel pressure regulator becomes possible by first removing the upper intake manifold. Release the vacuum hose connection from the regulator and extract the snap ring followed by removal of the regulator component. Discard the old O-ring seals. Replacement installation requires new O-ring seals from special fuel-resistant materials since regular seals tend to create leakage problems; avoid keeping or using worn-out seals for this purpose. Clean engine oil should be applied to new O-ring seals before their installation and then a reverse order should be used to finish the process.
