Start by unmounting the fuel tank from its installation location. The operation begins by disconnecting the fuel pump module harness from the fuel tank pressure sensor while simultaneously releasing its two wiring harness retainers. Wipe down the fuel pump module mounting flange together with the bordering area because foreign debris must be eliminated. When handling the fuel pump module normalize caution to protect both the float arm and filter and then unscrew the six mounting bolts from the module. The old fuel pump module seal needs disposal while the technician checks to ensure the flange and seal contact areas show no signs of breakage and avoids adjusting or polishing these points. Any damage to surface areas of the fuel pump module or fuel tank requires either a new fuel pump module or a new fuel tank installation. Return the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) after installing a new fuel pump module seal while performing the reverse order of the removal process.
