  A: The first step of servicing and repairing the rear parking brake cable involves taking out the floor console and unstressing the parking brake control adjusting nut. The first step is to free the rear parking brake cables from their connection on the equalizer while positioning the vehicle on a hoist using NEUTRAL gear. A suitable jack stand should be used to support the Muffler and tailpipe before separating the two muffler and tailpipe isolators from the vehicle structure. Remove the two nuts securing the Catalytic Converter-to-exhaust flexible pipes then separate the pipe from the converter before disposal of the gasket while tightening the new connection to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
