Q: How to service the hydraulic timing chain tensioner on the left-hand side on Mercury Mountaineer?
A: Service of the hydraulic timing chain tensioner on the left-hand side starts with removing the hydraulic chain tensioner. Follow up installation of the tensioner by tightening it to 44 Nm (32 lb-ft). Clean engine oil should be used for lubricating the new O-ring seal during its installation process. Reinstall the parts while following the reverse steps of removal and discard the old O-ring seal before installation.
