  A: The first step when servicing or repairing floor shift shift cable and bracket is to put the vehicle into NEUTRAL position on a hoist. Vehicle owners with a 6R75 transmission should start the process by first removing PRNDL trim and console tray and cup holder insert and then the screw followed by console upper trim. Detach the shift cable from all three points which include the selector lever, selector lever arm ball stud and the selector lever housing.
