How to remove and replace the RH temperature blend door actuator on Ford Escape?

One should start by taking off the upper center instrument panel finish panel followed by the passenger air bag module to access the RH temperature blend door actuator. The opening created by the passenger air bag module allows access to take out the RH panel duct screw along with the upper RH center panel duct screw. There exists one screw at the RH lower rear corner of the Audio Control Module (ACM) which requires removal together with the lower RH center panel duct screw. The first step is to detaching the pin-type wire harness retainer followed by removing the lower RH center panel duct screw. To begin the procedure disconnect the electric connector for the RH temperature blend door actuator from the glove compartment opening. From this opening also remove the wire harness pin-type retainer above the evaporator discharge air temperature sensor. Adequate care must be taken with the RH temperature blend door actuator screws to prevent their unintentional entry into the plenum chamber to avoid airflow mode door jamming or noise creation. You can reach the RH temperature blend door actuator screws by moving the RH center instrument panel duct slightly before taking out the two screws and the actuator itself. You should install the parts by following the reverse order of the removal process while tightening the screws to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
