How to arm and disarm the air bag system on Ford Explorer?

To activate and deactivate the air bag system, flick the ignition switch between OFF RUN with all the SRS parts in place. The air bag indicator light must take a period of six seconds. In case it does not start, or produces a flash, there is an SRS fault, which is marked by five sets of five beeps.

How to Safely Deactivate the Air Bag System on Ford Explorer?

To turn off the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), wear eye protection, and work carefully with air bag modules. Disconnect the battery, and wait 1 minute, remove RCM fuse 17 (10A), and observe air bag warning indicator. Install reconnect components, put the fuse back in and check the SRS functionality. Find any faults.
