  A: A correct servicing procedure for the secondary air pump starts with the vehicle having its transmission set to NEUTRAL position on a hoist. The underbody cover requires removal of its seven screws if present. Remove the electrical connector of the AIR pump before unclipping the wire harness retainers on both hose ends of the AIR pump. The air pump hose needs to be disconnected at its points from the air cleaner outlet pipe and the AIR valve. Disassemble the AIR pump with hoses by removing its three bolts yet tighten these bolts to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) torque values when reinstalling. The installation requires executing the removal steps in reverse order.
