How to service and repair the brake backing plate on Ford Taurus?

The brake backing plate requires maintenance that must begin by taking out the brake drum. First remove the wheel cylinder before disconnection of the parking brake cable. You should unclip the parking brake cable and conduit from the brake backing plate while guiding them outside the backing plate. The service requires removal of the ABS sensor bolt which will be discarded after service. You must remove both backing plate securing bolts before discarding them along with the bolts. Proceed with installation by following the opposite steps of removal and use new bolts.
