How to service and repair the ignition switch on Mercury Grand Marquis?

In order to service the ignition switch, switch off the SRS. To unlock the ignition switch cylinder, make the ignition switch cylinder position to RUN and push the release tab. Revoke the tilt lever, upper shroud and screws. Unlink the ignition switch, take it off and put it back in with screws being tightened to defined torque. Repower the SRS.

To service the ignition switch, depower SRS, peel off Steering column covers and disconnect the ignition switch connector. Push down on the column, tap the tabs and draw out the switch. Install the new switch by reversing the steps and re- powering the SRS.
