Insert the rocker arm assemblies along with their bolts into the ball sockets while applying clean engine oil to the top central area of both components and the bridge. The crankshaft requires placement to its top dead center position with cylinders No. 1 and No. 4 while the damper dowel pin faces the 10:30 mark. To identify the firing sequence look at the push rods from No. 3 and No. 8 intake valves; No. 1 firing position occurs with cam lift on No. 3 while No. 4 firing position emerges with cam lift on No. 8. The technician needs to decide and fasten the correct fulcrum plates according to firing position through partial bolt tightening to plate contact followed by 61 Nm (45 lb-ft) torque on the inboard bolt and then 61 Nm (45 lb-ft) torque on the outboard bolt. Adjust the crankshaft to reach the next set of cylinder TDC orientation before you tighten all other fulcrum plates which must maintain position around valve bridge center. Finally, reinstall the fuel rail.
