How to service and repair the front parking brake cable on 2006 Ford Freestar?

The front parking brake cable requires servicing from a hoist-positioned vehicle which needs to be placed in NEUTRAL. The equalizer needs the two parking brake rear cables detached. Complete the lift of parking brake control handle while simultaneously removing the parking brake control trim cover. After inserting the cable guide through the floor pan disconnect the cable assembly from the parking brake control. The installation process requires performing the steps in reverse order of the removal methods.
