Service of the fog lamp bulb requires that the headlamp switch and ignition switch remain in the OFF position. Start by supporting the vehicle and removing the lower radiator air deflector through bolt and pin-type retainer removal. Start by removing the front bumper cover and disconnect the electrical connector before taking out the fog lamp bulb. Place 5.4L vehicles in NEUTRAL position on a hoist before using the tabs to extract the fog lamp bulb and electrical connector. The gas-pressure inner structure of the new bulb requires users to handle it exclusively at the base while installing it to prevent damaging the fragile glass envelope. Removing the fog lamp bulb for installation must occur only during the final installation steps because contaminants can damage its performance. Proceed with the removal procedure in reverse pattern to finish the installation of the new bulb.

How to Service the Fog Light Bulb on Ford Ranger?

Service the fog lamp bulb by turning both headlamp switch and ignition switch OFF. Position the vehicle on a hoist when it is in the NEUTRAL gear. First disconnect the electrical connector and then remove the fog lamp bulb by holding its base because it contains compressed gas that could result in injury when touched or broken through envelope contact or impact.
