Mercury Air Suspension Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What precautions should be taken before disconnecting or removing air suspension components on Mercury Grand Marquis?
A: Vent all air pressure before dismantling any air suspension parts, since this can cause injury. Any air springs unfolded should be refolded to prevent ruptures. Change inappropriately folded springs. Only after installation, inflate new springs, with proper shape. Apply correct torque on fasteners and apply safe installation and inflation procedures.
  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Air Suspension System on Mercury Marauder?
A: In order to service air spring, make sure the piston is not clamped. Then put it on the flat surface and pull the solenoid out so that the air bag is opened, and then pull the membrane down over the piston to the correct height. Install the solenoid again in order to keep this height.
