How to Properly Maintain the Sway Bar Bushing on a Mercury Grand Marquis?

In order to service the sway bar bushing, lift the vehicle and undo the sway bar bracket by removing the nuts. Then pull out the sway bar bushing. To install, reverse the directions. Never use a different part number suspension fastener and follow torque values when reassembling.

When installing sway bar bushings, ensure the flanges are up and the split points forward. Place the vehicle in neutral on a hoist, remove the bolts and bracket, then tighten to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft) upon reinstallation. Inspect for wear and replace if needed, then reverse the removal process.
