Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then remove the instrument cluster bezel. Next, take out the switch screws and detach the switch from the bezel, noting that the light switch and instrument panel dimmer are mounted on the back of the instrument cluster bezel. For later models, retaining tabs are used instead of screws; to remove the switch, depress the tabs and pull it out. Installation is the reverse of removal.
