How to service and repair the Coolant Temperature Sensor for the 2.5L engine on Ford Ranger?

A technician should conduct water temperature indicator sender unit services and repairs on the 2.5L engine only when the engine has cooled down to avoid injuries from scalding coolant or steam. The radiator cap needs a thick cloth cover followed by a gradual turn to its first stop before moving to a safe spot to let the pressure escape. When pressure becomes zero, firmly grip the cap with your hand while holding the cloth. Then turn and withdraw the cap. The brown color indicates that the water temperature indicator is operati The temperature sending unit electrical connector needs disconnection after you remove the water temperature indicator sender unit. To install the new sender unit use Pipe Sealant with Teflon D8AZ-19554-A or an equivalent material which satisfies Ford specifications WSK-M2G350-A2 and ESR-M18P7-A by applying it to threads. The new sender unit must be installed through the reverse process of removal steps.

How to service and repair the Coolant Temperature Sensor on Ford Mustang?

The repair process for the Engine Cooling Temperature (ECT) Sensor requires the service technician to drain the cooling system. You should first remove the electrical connector from the ECT sensor then separate its retaining clip to remove the sensor device. The installation of the new sensor involves following the reverse steps of removal. You must finish by bleaching and filling the cooling system for appropriate function.
