How to Service the Throttle Position Sensor on Ford Mustang?

The first step for servicing the throttle position sensor requires disconnecting its electrical connector. You must remove the TP sensor screws with great care; start by untightening the screws 1-2 full turns with a hand tool before finishing the removal with a suitable high-speed driver. The sensor should be completely removed from the car system alongside its two screws. The installation process should avoid using a high-speed tool for screw fixation to protect the TP sensor from harm. The installation requires new TP sensor and screws because using previously used components remains forbidden. The radial locator tab of the new TP sensor needs to match the radial locator hole present on the throttle body. Insert the new TP sensor while tightening its two screws to 3 Nm (27 lb-in). To complete the procedure reconnect the electrical connector of the TP sensor.

How to service the Throttle Position Sensor on Ford Ranger?

Disconnection of power supply cable from battery followed by removal of electrical connector to Throttle Position (TP) sensor should be the first step for servicing the Throttle Position Sensor. Start by taking out the TP sensor after you remove all its securing screws. Follow the reverse order of removal to install the device by placing rotary tangs over the throttle shaft blade and rotating the throttle position sensor.
