How should the brake light switch be serviced to avoid incorrect adjustment and damage on Ford Mustang?

When servicing the brake light switch, maintain a rest position of the brake pedal and do not move it. To remove the switch plunger, compress the switch plunger to make one-eighth clockwise rotation. Unscrew the electrical connector, and repeat the process in reverse to install, with the booster push rod attached to the brake pedal.

How to service and repair the Brake Light Switch on Ford Ranger?

Disconnecting the electrical connector of the the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch is the first step in repairing it. Next usher in the removal of the BPP switch assembly whereby the self-locking pin and spacer are removed, and then the switch. The installation of the new switch is just a reverse of the steps followed in its removal.
