How to service the brake light switch on Ford Explorer?

The brake light switch service requires verifying that the brake pedal and master cylinder as well as the brake booster remain intact before disconnecting the stoplamp switch. The installer must do away with stoplamp switch installation whenever the brake pedal arm remains unbound from the brake booster push rod. Pulling or pushing the brake pedal should be avoided when installing or removing the stoplamp switch to prevent any changes or damage to the system. First disconnect the electricity connector attached to the stoplamp switch. The stoplamp switch requires rotating 45 degrees towards the clock direction to separate it from its mounting location. The process to mount the new switch involves doing the opposite of what was done during removal.

Before servicing the brake light switch maintain the brake pedal in its resting position and refrain from touching the brake pedal during stoplamp switch assembly or disassembly because improper adjustment and destructive damage will occur. Infiniti drivers should first squeeze the switch plunger before attempting to detach it from the bracket since compression allows the switch rotation. Trying to break it free with extended plunger will damage the system. Awning the stoplamp switch clockwise by around one-eighth turn allows you to detach it before disconnecting its electrical connector. To install reverse the removal steps by connecting the brake pedal to the booster push rod.

How to service and repair the Brake Light Switch on Ford Ranger?

Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the BPP switch for its servicing and repairing. The procedure for BPP switch assembly removal starts with unlocking the self-locking pin then removing the spacer before separating the BPP switch. The installation of the new switch requires following the opposite steps of removal.
