How to service the brake light switch on Ford Mustang?

Service of the brake light switch needs to start by checking that the brake pedal and brake booster and master cylinder do not require servicing before removing the stoplamp switch. Before installation of the stoplamp switch it is essential to mount the brake pedal arm to the brake booster push rod. Additionally the brake pedal must be released from all contact points when installing or removing the switch to prevent misadjustments or damage to the device. Removing the stoplamp switch requires rotating it clockwise to a 1/8 turn position and disconnecting its electrical connector. Installation of the stoplamp switch occurs through reversing the steps from removal.

How to service and repair the Brake Light Switch on Ford Ranger?

Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the BPP switch for its servicing and repairing. The procedure for BPP switch assembly removal starts with unlocking the self-locking pin then removing the spacer before separating the BPP switch. The installation of the new switch requires following the opposite steps of removal.
