What Are the Key Steps for Servicing and Repairing the Dana 60 and 70 Pinion Bearing on Ford E-250?

To install Dana 60 and 70 pinion gear, change a bent oil slinger, and be sure that the gears of the differential and pinion fit together. Look at the gear contact pattern to establish pinion position. The shim thickness must be the same as the old shim, with adjustments of pinion etchings to have the shim in place correctly.

A: To install Dana 60 and 70 pinion gear, change a bent oil slinger, and be sure that the gears of the differential and pinion fit together. Look at the gear contact pattern to establish pinion position. The shim thickness must be the same as the old shim, with adjustments of pinion etchings to have the shim in place correctly.
