How to service the knock sensor (KS) on Lincoln Navigator?

To service the knock sensor (KS), start by removing the intake manifold. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the knock sensor, then take out the two bolts and sensors. When installing new sensors, tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) and follow the reverse order of removal for reinstallation.

How to Address Issues with the Knock Sensor on a Lincoln MKZ?

In order to service the knock sensor (KS), disassemble the thermostat housing, lower intake manifold and coolant tube throwing away the O-ring. Unscrew the connector between KS and unscrew the bolts. Install the new KS and fit bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) and lubricate the new O-ring with clean engine coolant.
