What precautions should be taken when servicing the fuel pressure regulator on Ford Crown Victoria?

Vapors are flammable and when working with a fuel pressure regulator, flames or smoking should be avoided. When engine is off, fuel is pressurized relieve pressure. Take out upper intake manifold, disconnect vacuum hose, take off snap ring and regulator. Discard O-rings/seal. Install reversely with fuel resistant O-rings lubricate injector pockets with clean engine oil.

What precautions should be taken when servicing the fuel pressure regulator on Ford Expedition?

During any fuel pressure regulator servicing work, smoking around fuel parts is not allowed because they are flammable. De-fuel lines before breaking them. To disconnect the regulator, disconnect the vacuum hose, push the snap ring out and dispose old O-rings. Install new fuel-resistant O-rings that are lubricated with clean SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil.
