How to service and repair the throttle cable and linkage on Mercury Cougar?

In order to maintain the throttle cable, disconnect the accelerator cable of the engine cover and defix the resonator of intake air. Take out the retaining clip, break the cable between the throttle body and the pedal, and free up the housing. Install a draw cord which can be easily installed and then repeat the steps in reverse order.

How to Service and Repair the Throttle Cable on Mercury Mariner?

When servicing the accelerator cable, make sure that it does not touch the other parts of the components, which might hamper movement and cause harm. Disconnect the cable on the throttle body and the pedal and then tighten the cover shield to 4 Nm and the bracket nut to 5 Nm on re-connection. Installation is the reverse of the process of removal.
