In order to service the windshield washer pump one has to remove the air cleaner assembly. Move the pump and reservoir out of position, unscrew securing bolts, disconnect electrical connectors and introduce the hose of the washer, and take them out. Note precautions of label methanol and gather fluid in container. Uninstall by unfreezing the processes.

How to service the rear window washer pump on Mercury Mariner?

In order to service the rear window washer pump, lift the vehicle in neutral and lift the RH front fender splash shield. Unpack the reservoir in the washer, unplug the electrical connector and hose, and take out the pump. To prevent damage, empty the reservoir and reinstall it and then use the pump.
